On behalf of our Staff and Board of Directors, I would like to welcome you to North East Trees. Although we have made some changes to our look, in many respects, we are the same organization that was founded by educator, landscape architect, and community activist, Scott Wilson, nearly 20 years ago. He started with a motto, “More Trees Are Better”. Over 30,000 planted trees later, we remain deeply committed to this goal. However, we have learned how important it is to develop neighborhood and community capacity to nurture or steward newly created, as well as existing, environmental improvements.
